We’ve been working for the betterment of Lake Martin since we were organized in 1972.

Our Mission

Lake Martin Resource Association (LMRA) is an active member-supported, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving and protecting the Lake Martin Community.

Our Goals

  • Enhance boating safety on Lake Martin

  • To improve the security of our members’ homes and property

  • To maintain a litter-free lake shoreline and adjacent roadsides

  • To protect both water quantity and water quality from threats of outside forces

  • To continually inform members and the interested public of all issues which could have a negative effect on Lake Martin

  • To provide forums of public involvement for the lake’s best interests

  • To work with all appropriate agencies and businesses who share our position

How LMRA is working to accomplish our mission

  • We make a strong effort toward stabilization of winter and summer lake levels

  • We are active participants with Alabama Power Company in the Martin Dam Relicensing project

  • We maintain representation on the State of Alabama Water Commission

  • We promote environmental education through lake clean up and re-cycling efforts

  • We purchase, place and maintain hazard buoys throughout the lake

  • We promote and offer educational programs to improve boating safety

  • We sponsor a $5,000 reward as a crime prevention and environmental protection program for LMRA members

  • We offer a lakeside address sign project

  • We publish periodic newsletters to inform membership of lake related issues and LMRA activities.
